Saint Joseph, Pillar of Families

I didn't use to pray novenas.  I always thought that praying directly to God was better.  But I read this passage from the Bible: "The continual prayer of a just man availeth much." - James 5:16 I thought of the matter more and now I see that novenas are a humble way of praying.  It is asking those closest to Jesus (and holiest) people who walked the earth, to pray for me. This is not a new way of doing things as Moses intervened for the Jews when God wanted to punish them for making a bull with their own hands and started worshipping them. These days I've been trying to memorize wisdom from scripture.  These words from the psalms charmed my heart softly so it was a delight to know that this is an easy verse to remember.  Psalm 34:5. Just count the numbers and you've got the verse!

This will be one of my "life verses"!

I like drawing something to remember life verses.

This woman represents my desire to keep looking at God.

To look on His love is a gift.  To look on the gift of His life is to experience His mercy.  To look on His mercy is a divine grace.  To look on the His grace is to have hope.  To look on the eternal hope He gives us is joy.  To look on the joy of every moment in His presence is to grow in loving Him.

"Let your eyes look straight ahead; fix your gaze directly before you.  Give careful thought to the paths for your feet and be steadfast in all your ways." - Proverbs 4:25-26

We cannot see what is before us unless we look forward.  We cannot see what lies ahead without the light of Christ in this darkened world.  We are more likely to stumble without the wisdom that comes from His Word.
