Windows and doors have always intrigued me.

They witness the comings and goings of all and they are privy
to the most joyous and mournful partings.

They hold their own beauty.

These windows and doors are from a beautiful place in the Philippines
Las Casas Filipinas de Acuzar.

How I wish the whole country looked like this!
But alas, no one can stop the wheels of time and
modernization.  It's a good thing that we can always
visit this place and remember.

Happiness often sneaks in through a door you didn't know you left open. John Barrymore

Better keep yourself clean and bright; you are the window through which you must see the world. - George Bernard Shaw

Freedom is the open window through which pours the sunlight of the human spirit and human dignity. - Herbert Hoover

If a window of opportunity appears, don't pull down the shade.

A smile is the light in your window that tells others that there is a caring, sharing person inside. - Denis Waitley

Not all those who wander are lost - J.R.R. Tolkien

May all the doors you pass through bring you to a blessing.
May those who pass through your door bring goodness and kindness into your home.
May all the windows you look through bring you a good view.
And may the windows of your soul shine God's light through to you and reflect His love to those around you.

Visiting this place enriches the heart.

I've always dreamed of a distant time gone by when Manila was in its prime,
the sparkling toast, the Paris-like playground of the world.

It was the 1800s pre-war era and people wore the traditional Maria Clara and Barong
seemingly unfazed by the heat.

Just 3 hours from Manila, you can relive all the glory of this era.
Don your best Filipiniana and be among the similarly attired staff all over the grounds.

A walk along the houses and buildings gives one a sense of nostalgia
and a feel of the rich history each of these structures hold.

Some of the homes are made up of 1% vintage and 99% restoration work
but the fine craftsmanship of the Las Casas workers were able to skillfully fill in
what time has ravaged.

Surprise surprise!  Delight in the nearby pool beside the beach!

The intricate details do delight.

When you're in the Philippines, it's worth an overnight stay here to get a feel for the old world.  Bring the whole family!

See what our crazy clan did here!

See my windows and door photographs in my next post!

Have you ever heard of St. Simon the Tanner?

If you don't believe in the bible, maybe St. Simon's story will convince you.

if you've never heard it before you're missing something. take note that this event was written as a historical fact. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Simon_the_Tanner

He will cover you with His feathers, and under His wings you shall find refuge.

***** Keep safe with psalm 91

Come join the party at Word Art Wednesday!

I still find each day too short for all the thoughts I want to think, all the walks I want to take, all the books I want to read, all the friends I want to see. - John Burroughs

I feel exactly the same.

I hadn't visited Singapore in ages.  I was pleasantly surprised by how it has developed through the years.  It's  truly a first world Asian country.

Here are some artsy photographs (aka artographs) I took while I was there last week.

This one looks like an old Jersey street but nope, it's in Singapore... Universal Studios!

Walking along the avenue

View from my window (Hotel V, Lavender St.)

Hotel V is one swell hotel. It's located right on top of a metro station so you can get practically everywhere from there.

I love Ferris wheels!

Then #young #women will #dance and be glad, young men and old as well. I will turn their mourning into gladness; I will give them comfort and #joy instead of sorrow. #christian #bible #scripture #art #photooftheday #photography#travelgram
Some friends and i gathered together to do some art!

My sister Patsy held a workshop so we could learn a new technique for drawing people.
The place was filled with so much color!

Here's my finished woman. I think she came out alright but as always practice makes perfect so I'm sure the next will be much better!

Later i did my own thing haha!

I just love hot air balloons, don't you?

Happy artsying! :)

O Holy Spirit, descend plentifully into my heart. Enlighten the dark corners of this neglected dwelling and scatter there Thy cheerful beams. - Saint Augustine.

Happy Pentecost season everyone!

“Wait on the Lord" is a constant refrain in the Psalms, and it is a necessary word, for God often keeps us waiting. He is not in such a hurry as we are, and it is not his way to give more light on the future than we need for action in the present, or to guide us more than one step at a time. When in doubt, do nothing, but continue to wait on God. When action is needed, light will come.” ― J.I. Packer

We all need to learn to wait don't we?

*of course I doodled this while waiting :)
Happy Mothers Day to all the beautiful mom out there specially to my mom and sisters!

Here are some images you may use to greet the moms you love.

Enjoy this most special celebration!

I used to know ballet. Now ballet has forgotten me and vice versa.
I drew a girl today that represents that lost relationship. A world gone away into another.
